We’ve all heard of FaceBook, MySpace and other successful social networking sites. Now the Portable Storage industry will have social networking location all of its own. The NPSA has partnered with ThePort Network, which is one of the leading providers of social networking sites for nonprofit organizations. We are very excited to have established this online community for our members to network and share their ideas. With the addition of this community, the conversations, networking, and education that are sparked at our events now have a vehicle to be carried out throughout the year. We hope all of our members will use this community to reach out and build relationships within the portable storage industry.
We officially launched the NPSA’s Social Community at the NPSA Resale EXPO in Santa Barbara with a presentation to the attendees on May 4th. A representative from ThePort Network was at the EXPO to help teach our members how to register and most effectively use the community.
Below is a highlight of some of the community features that will foster networking, increased industry education, and the sharing of best practices:
· Groups – Groups are a great way to connect with other members who share similar interests with you. Feel free to join the groups we have set up or create your own. Within groups, you can have conversations, share photos, and create a group specific events calendar.
· Forums – Forums allow the community to discuss topics that are important to the industry as a whole. If there is a forum that is specifically important to you, you can subscribe to it either through email or RSS Feeds.
· Photo Gallery – Please take some time to upload your own photos of either work you are proud of or NPSA events to the community photo gallery. You can also comment on, share, and rate other photos from others.
· Blogs – We know you have a lot to say, now you’ll have the entire industry reading your words of wisdom!
· Personal Profile – Your personal profile is the key to successful networking. Your profile is how others can find you and learn more about you. Please take some time to complete your profile, upload pictures, and blog. Within your profile, you will also be able to send and receive personal messages, manage your events, and make lists of favorites.
